We Just Don't Know How Human Consciousness Works
We don't know how human consciousness works. We're going to be sitting here 30 years from now and we're still not going to have any more knowledge, but buying other scientific breakthroughs of the kind that you're talking about. What's interesting is if you think about that time, we had neural nets, but they were all single layer basically. You couldn't even do some simple things because you need a deeper network to get at them. And so all we can do is hand wave and kind of just say, "Well, it's just going to be a merge"
