Prayer Is the Engine Room for Our Prayers

Prayer involves us deeply in res sively, in all the operations of god. Prayer is silent and its listening and its contemplative. And prayer is wild and carismatic and loud. But prayer, it its simplest and most childlike, the binding holding the whole thing together is asking for what you need. In luke 11, immediately after the lord's prayer, in luke's version of the prayer, jesus illustrates that prayer by talking about a neighbour who is in need of, wait for it, bread.
