The Alaskan Wood Frog Does Not Frozen in the Winter
This shark can sense blood about one part per million. The Alaskan wood frog does not actually freeze in the winter, but hibernates beneath the mud at the bottom of lakes and ponds. They are frog sickles because they have antifreeze inside their cells. It takes time for the blood to diffuse through the water so that they could detect it.
