The Hunta and the Nationalist Movement

The Hunta the Defense and Nationale was created in July, with General Cabaneas installed as president. During this time, one of the goals of the Hunta was to reduce the influence of Franco who had entered the war commanding the most important military units. There were still some uncertainty about what the government of nationalist Spain would look like but there were also attempts to build an economic base for the cause. The various groups within the nationalist camp were united by their overall goals of reverting the leftist reforms that had been put in place over the previous decade.
