The Legend of Ragnar Lopruk
Was Ragnar Lopruk a real person? Maybe yes, maybe no. What we do know is that the sons who were attributed to him were definitely real people. So they're real all right, but the problem with our actual Ragnar is that he turns up in a whole range of sources - some of which are clearly fictional sources. But basically, there was certainly one, maybe more than one Viking called Ragnar operating in Ireland, France and Britain.
