The Importance of Affirmative Action in College

I actually think a small amount of affirmative action would probably have good outcomes for black students. You do want to go to a college that's a little bit above you. But when you come in and on average, you're at 1.4 standard deviations lower on some of these tests, that's when they're going to be issues. So it's someone who would usually qualify for a tier two university gets bumped into a tier one. That could actually be a positive for that student because it'll challenge them a little bit more.
