The Word Was Made Flesh
The word suddenly became very important. The image was proscribed to the extent that people went around destroying images, a destroying sculpture and everything beautiful - unless it had text on it. Am the literal suddenly becomes more important than the metaphoric. Nobody understands when people are speaking metaphorically or when they are saying subtle things. Everything is taken as a boldly literal, decontextalized statement. And there's a desire to beraised the past, because the past doesn't conform to what the reformers believe were important things. There’s a turning of the whole, a abstract left hemisphere mind, away from the body, which is corrupt flesh and must be resisted wherever possible and denied
