The Culture of Anger and Frustration
In Myanmar, during the height of the Rohingya crisis, we were getting a lot of heat from Washington for not having solved this somehow. I found out later they ripped into me in particular and the rest of the embassy to a certain extent because we weren't angry enough. We all felt really strongly about it. And then we went too dispassionate which was bad. But that's kind of the culture and it doesn't mean people don't have pretty strong emotions or strong feelings about things.
