There has been much greater demand for burgundy since around about 2009, 2010 and I started working for Christie's Wine Department in 2000. By this stage because understanding of Bordeaux had got greater and also the quality of winemaking had got much greater. Once they discovered Pinot Noir many people never looked back but realized that burgundy is an absolutely fascinating area. You can drink the wines when they're useful, you can enjoy them with their maturing and they turn into long living wines. A well made burgundy can last for 20, 30, 40 years.
