The Barriers to Practicing a Biopsychosocial Approach in Clinic
Pain is such a strong, aversive experience that is unpleasant and demands our attention. It's just so easy to have that causal link and try and fix that knee. So we have to respect that, and that's where patients come from. People in the public expect a massage or a dry needling or 10 units of interferential therapy. Not having good social support around you can be hard to change.
