IBS and IBD - What's the Difference?

IBS stands for irritable bowel syndrome and it's a syndrome because when you look at the organs they can't find anything that's wrong with it. 80% of patients with Crohn's disease have some kind of infection or some kind of inflammation in the bottom of their small intestine, which is an IBS within the IBD. And what often happens with patients is their physician or their gastroenterologist starts escalating care. The problem is not the disease. It's the IBS that's causing all the symptoms.
