The Role of Insulin and Glucagon in Liver Function

The full hormonal picture is complex. And those have been delineated by many people in the lab including Henrik Galbo in the 70s and in Copenhagen, who've come along since then. What I think that these really are the main acute regulators of liver function is that you have a fallen insulin with the onset of exercise, but you also have a rise in glucagon. Those two things increase glucose production and allow glucose to come out go out and meet the needs of the working muscle.
