Differential Treatment for Pleural Effluence

Most patients that I see for pleural effusion have already had some form of chest imaging and the presence of an effusion is known. Once I know the patient has a diagnosis, I'll typically obtain additional history to really drill down on their risk factors for a new pleural effusions. It's just really important to get a sense of cronicity for these patients.
