The Role of Trauma in Fear
I think trauma gets encoded in the human nervous system when something happens that is too fast, too much to process in the moment and that we felt alone with. So I think it's actually more of like a feeling of being at the wrong end of a fire hose if you will that really seems to create trauma. And so then anxiety. Some people might experience that as anxiety right which is pretty straight ahead like worry avoidance panicright those sorts of things. But I also think some humans can feel fear and that will go right to the experience of depression and sadness. Even depression can really be sort of a hopeless hopelessness and helplessness that comes after feeling kind of fearful for so long.
