An EKG reading consists of spikes and dips called waves. The measurement that might help us most judge whether heart attack is happening or not is troponin. An echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound of the heart, would tell us how well the heart is pumping. A cardiologist would be called at this point to help with some of these decisions.
