We saw how industrial expansion and the laws of capitalism pretty much required japan to become imperialist. The occupation of corea required a whole host of brutal, unforgivable crimes against coreans. These forces were then weaponized to attack liberal and democratic politics. We will look at another japanese secret society and another region subject to imperial aggression next week. And we will see how it was similar, yet different, to korea.
