What the Social Sciences Should Be Doing About Conspiracy Theories
The social sciences are concerned with avoiding events that people do not want, like war and poverty. If these issues are reduced to conspirators and their intentions, Popper thinks we are completely missing the mark with what the social sciences should be doing. The study of conspiracy theories goes back a very long time; there are examples before this Hannah Arendt writes about it or Theodore Darno among others.
