The Jules Rimet Trophy
No one was arrested at the time. No, no one was ever found. Brazil went on to win the Jules Rimet trophy in their very next tournament in Mexico in 1970. So they were allowed to keep it. And it was put on display at the Brazilian Football Confederation headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. It was in a cabinet with a front of bulletproof glass because they'd really learn the lesson. The story had not come out that it was him until Reg died around 2000.
