Is There a Need for Knowledge?

I think in one way our education system could be more child centric, and that's politically. Because you want six-year-olds to have the vote. There is something genuinely democratic about thinking there's one aspect of our collective existence where we don't set knowledge criteria. The arc of a human life looks very, very different than it did 20 years ago. Education still feels like it has a vision that you do it and then you do something else. But we've sort of given up on it.
