The Importance of Code Switching

When you're in the service business, especially an organization like McDonald's, even if you have a bad day, the customer is always right. I was able to make it to what's called swing manager, which is an assistant manager. That taught me a certain level of personal responsibility for my appearance because it wasn't just me I was being accountable for. It was also this establishment that was counting on me and paying me to look presentable and be polite to customers.
