The Battle of Kadesh
Ramesses II was on the back foot with just himself and one division of his army against the mighty Hittites. So worried was Ramesses that he sent his Visya and royal princes away from the scene to avoid them all being killed at once. This was disastrous for Ramesses as the other divisions had not made it to the Egyptian camp yet. Facing the Egyptians could have been as many as 27,000 foot soldiers and 3,000 three-man chariots. Bigger chariots than the Egyptians but this could make them more cumbersome in open field warfare.
