What Causes Earthquakes?
The movement of tectonic plates pushes magma up towards the surface, cracking the rock around it. Even if you are standing right above one, you couldn't feel it. That's why scientists use a sensor that can measure earthquakes. Sensors are installed close to the volcano and they send their data back to the volcano observatory.
