The Battle of Athens

Following his defeat of the Minotaur, and Egeus is subsequent death, Theseus became the new king of Athens. Ironically, he married Phaedra, who was the younger sister of his ex-lever,. Ariadne, the Cretan princess who helped him escape from the labyrinth. Medea with her infant son fled Athens to Asia Minor. It was almost immediately after this, that the events dealing with the Cretans transpired - which we have discussed in detail in episode 5.
