The Difference Between Trading and Betting
Betfair allows you to be both a bookmaker and a punter at the same time. Being a trader is to be able to back that horse and lay that horse at varying prices. So trading as opposed to betting is simply taking a position on both sides of a market, winning a bookmakers and a punner - no matter what result.
