54% of Americans said Donald Trump when he was president, only 36% say Joe Biden during his presidency so far. That is an 18 point margin in Trump's favor, and it could well define the election. The fact of inflation, the fact that people's standard of living has declined, is really, I think, biting into Biden's support.
