Even those who can find work say that the demands being placed on them by employers are now overwhelming. It's a trend now known colloquially as 996, working from 9 in the morning to 9 in the evening six days a week. George Magnus: How much is the repression responsible? I mean, there have been these very high profile acts, haven't there? By the Chinese government in the last two or three years against private tuition companies, against gaming companies because they want to bring down the amount of youth gaming going on.
