Most gyms do have hammer strength type stuff or knock off machines that you can get back your back work in. I would want a good chest supported row for upper back, a good single arm row for lats. And then pull downs just in general, just a regular old school basic cable pull down are more joint friendly on your elbows and your shoulders than a pull up.
