The Sound of the Ocean

You can record really powerful infra sound in your house when your air conditioner is running. But remarkably the most pervasive wash of noise comes from the world's oceans. It kind of sounds like the ocean actually it's this continuous sighing sound and as you listen to it you'll notice that it changes pitch and it'll grow louder and quieter. I don't think you can detect an individual house from the sky but if you get enough houses or you get a big power plant or something that has a really big fan it's going to produce a sound that you can detect even 20,000 meters in the sky.
