Karl Bart was a Swiss-reformed theologian of the previous century. He is famous for his lengthy but tectonic plate shifting church dogmatics. His Romans commentary shocked scandalised biblical scholars and continues to do so. The lecture looks at what Bart was doing in this controversial Romans commentary. It examines why biblical scholars in particular took signature offence.
