The current commonwealth is a voluntary club, and its countries cover a third of the world's population. It takes its cue, originally from britain, but it is emphatically not any more absolutely run by britain. And so there are 56 members nan and on paper, they are all equal. What i think most important is that the smaller states in the pacific ocean and in the caribbeam have a good platform for voicing their worries.
