The Glastonbury Myth
Glastonbury legend is actually itself about the time cretien de tois was writing. The idea that the grail should come here originally, i think, is just part of a conversion story. Where did christianity come from? Not apparently, from saint augustine, but right from somebody who held christ in his arms and buried him. Gives us something of a chosen people to and most nations like to argue they were particularly chosen in some way.
