In Deuteronomy, the woman's status has been elevated. You can find this pattern consistently. Men first and then women. When the women come along, then it's cool. And before that, it's men are ugly. Jesus looked like an ordinary Jew with a black beard and black hair and not much hair. He was ordinary enough to where He could escape into crowds of people and nobody really knew who He was. Or just told this.
