Samuel: The beings that I have come to understand as my familiar spirits have appeared in dreams and in ritual experiences over a period of several months before I made initial contact with them. In the Mesopotamian esoteric tradition, what is a familiar spirit and then how can we cultivate those relationships with those spirits? And when I compose this book, I'm not one for following planetary hours or astrological positions. So it seemed to really hit home that what I was doing wasn't out of thin air.
