Miles Davis and the Importance of Improvisation

Miles Davis was playing at a club in Los Angeles called Shelley's Manhole. When he left the club that night I literally was walking on air. My feet didn't touch the ground for at least two weeks because I understood what improvisation was from that moment on. You know it's complete musical freedom. In fact I'm scared sitting in this chair just thinking about it.
