The Endless ADU Ordinance in San Diego
If you want to have two units on a project, just build an ADU. The duplex process isn't there. So I don't see any reason why. When California achieves housing abundance, it'll be by stacking like ADUs on top of each other and they'd like 20 story buildings. We'll still call them ADUs, but that'll be like a bunch of pretty fab ADUs glued together into effectively a high rise,. That's what you're seeing in the city of San Diego. Now you see a bunch of ADUs basically stacked on top and around each other in a backyard.
