Macarthur's Banville

Macarthur is a contradictory and complex figure I think it doesn't even get close to it he has not courted publicity in the obvious sense. He was released about 10 years ago after serving 30 years but still seems to enjoy his notoriety. Macarthur's model for Freddie Montgomery character in Banville's book of evidence Rooker Shortlisted novel and that character pops up in several other novels.
