The Captain of the Temple
In Acts 4, Peter and John are arrested because they're teaching at the temple. The captain of the temple guard was a local police force that the Romans permitted. They were controlled by the Sadducees who had political authority here on the temple mount. So what happens? Well, we read that they're taken to Anas the high priest. He's essentially going to say there's salvation and no other name.
