Ancient Greece was not a nation, as we think of it today or elsewhere. It's kind of this coastal, there's lots of coastlines and these little islands surrounded by sea. And the coastline is all kind of rocky mountains descending to sea. In order to get along and get ahead in ancient Greece, you had to be a bit of a hustler.
