The History of the Perkins Institute

A lot of abolitionists, especially white abolitionists still did not believe necessarily that the enslaved people were equal. The Perkins Institute that he founded was named after its benefactor, a rich guy who donated Thomas Perkins who donated his mansion to the school. His Perkins was rich because he bought and sold people.
