Martin Amos is the rare son of a highly distinguished literary figure who probably transcended his father and became more famous than his father. Kingsley was, you know, very close friends both with Robert Conquest and with Larkin,. With Philip Larkin they sent each other absurd obscene limericks. None of which apparently have really survived or so were. And then Martin came along and just sort of lapped him.
