The Democratic Party's Way to Win the Senate Race
Every election from 1878 onward, somebody from the Democratic party was always elected governor. In 1966, nobody wants the nomination for governor because they didn't think they could win. The little GOP party gives it to a businessman whose only experience was selling insurance and his only political experience is that he had just lost a Senate race. To hear him tell it in 1966, Democrats need to stop laughing.
