The Effects of FES PET on the Clinical Stage of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma

This was a prospective single center pilot study which included adult women with biopsy proven invasive lobular carcinoma referred by an institutional breast surgeon or oncologist. All included individuals underwent FES PET CT and they may have undergone FDD PET optionally or as standard of care. For each individual, a data related to tumor grade and hormone receptor status including ear positivity was recorded. Of the 25 sites of disease 22 were primary breast lesions, two were metastatic axillary lymph nodes and one was a distant bony metastasis.
