The Collective Good
There's a long tradition of this in the modern world coming out of thinkers like Jean Jacques Rousseau with his concept of the general will. There are variations of it in Marxism, the dictatorship of the proletariat, the class and lots of other variants on that as well. So there are group believer, Rousseauians, Hegelians, Marxists, and lots ofOther variants on that that are part and parcel of modern history. It has to do with people's views on whether a government should be sorry, an economy should be controlled or decentralized.
