The Role of Race in the Rise of Social Democracy

Guston's work has less to do with industrialization or the means of production. He can only be a product of his personal trauma right which doesn't seem historical and it doesn't seem like it accurately represents his perspective on his own work. The idea that you would parse the entrenched racism for creating social democracy just seems insane to me because wealth redistribution from the top down benefited working class people of every race.
