The Third Area of the New Literacy

Far too many people think that once they have got their degree or other qualification, they no longer need to go on learning apart from vocational training courses. This is a monumental mistake between someone who reads even one practical book a month and another who just watches television and doesn't read at all. After ten years, the first person will have read 120 books, the other none. If you don't engage in life on learning, you will end up like an illiterate among your smarter contemporaries.
