The Stagnation Hypothesis

The burden of knowledge is one of the main contributing factors to this stagnation that a lot of public intellectuals are concerned about right now. I think it's very difficult for us to tell now, without the benefit of hindsight, you know, whether we're in a period of stagnation or making progress. And then also an article I go a bit into brainstorming what might be happening instead. We can even get an intuition of the phenomenon by just looking at the science fiction depictions in the 1950s to the 60s and 70s where people had a much grander image of the future.
