Ecoists Aren't Environmentalists
I see a kind of ill fitting religiosity that ends up pervading environmental discussions. I find that for a lot of people, they're not really environmentalists, they're ecoists. The deaths caused by nuclear power is still lower than that caused by coal on a per wattage basis. So from my perspective as a an engineering mind that is looking at trade offs, nuclear power is great. But there are failure modes to left politics like there are to any kind of politics.
