The War on Slavery

The war was about slavery as we both said many, many times. And there were a great number of African American soldiers in the war. I mean, almost 200,000 black soldiers joined the Union Army by the time the war ended. They probably received less care than white Union troops. But everything depended on personnel, everything depended on the attitudes of and the skill of the commanders involved.
