There is value in today's society to be some kind of multi-skilled person that knows a bit of software engineering. You don't need to be like an expert in I don't know stats or machine training machine learning models you can have knowledge from data engineering ml stats SQL things like that and be quite valuable as well. For early career people I would probably say like try and learn a bit of it all because at least you'llYou'll learn the stuff you don't like right? It depends on where you are and what you want but if you want to get far then then specialism and industry context should be your focus.
