The key with all of these is that you execute them in progression. Start slower than you think you might need to and then work down so that you can unlock more speed as you go. Another thing I like during this phase would be sprinkling in not every week, but perhaps every other week, some timed hill reps. If you get higher up the hill, you know, you're actually running it faster.
